Me and my boyfriends 1 yr 6mo. is exactly one week away and I still don’t have a present for him yet! He has told me that he already bought me something "really pretty" which he says he knows I will like, & my mom confirmed it; I am thinking it’s probably jewelry but idk for sure. We haven’t done consistent anniversary gifts like at 3, 6, 9, or 12 month intervals so I am a little lost. I’ll recap what we have exchanged with each other so far.

When we first started dating it was a few days before we went to prom my junior& his senior year.
He surprised me with a purse I said I liked when we were shopping together before, which was cute he remembered! Also, afterwards he brought me chocolate covered strawberries and champagne so it was really romantic.

For my 17th birthday, he bought me a pretty nightgown that he recalled I said I liked in passing. And he bought me a tanzanite pendant necklace which was a total surprise. My birthday was around our 3 months and so was his high school graduation which I bought him a new pair of Polo shoes and a leather wallet for, so we didn’t get anything else for each other as anniversary gifts.

For his 19th birthday, I took him out to his favorite restaurant for a late lunch. Then I bought him some flavored tobacco cuz he has a hookah & likes to smoke it every so often. ( He said that’s what he wanted most so I got it for him.)

For our 6 months we talked about getting promising rings but didn’t wanna get cheap , dinky ones so we decided to wait for Christmas which was around our 8-9months. So for 6months we just went out for dinner and saved up to buy each other "pre-engagement" or promise rings. They were both gold with diamonds so we made sure the money was spent well and they would be something we’d really want to wear forever.

Valentines day- He bought me another heart necklace with diamonds this time & I made him a really cute woven heart card with sayings from sweethearts & then I bought him cologne and socks and undies cuz he always needs more.

1 year- prom time again! We decided not to buy each other gifts for this anniv. cuz we each spent close to a grand on prom no lie! It was my senior year this time and we went all out! Expensive dress, hair, nails, shoes, tux, limo, dinner, dance and then hotel afterwards with an ocean view and we spent the next day at the beach&pool <3 It was perfect!

My 18th birthday (2nd one together)- he bought me a bunch of stuff for the school I got into FSU license plate for my car, key chain, cute shirt, & some stuff form victoria’s secret. Again we didn’t do the 1 yr 3mo thing.

His 20th birthday (2nd time) – I took him out to the same restaurant as the first time, he loves that place so much! Then I bought him some clothes cuz he wanted some for starting college including more socks & undies haha. & I also bought him a nice beard trimmer/hair shaver.

Now it’s finally our 1yr 6mo. & I am like out of ideas! I could buy more cologne but thats not personal. He’s a techie guy but I don’t have a lot of money to buy him expensive electronics. (we’re both in college now). One idea was he wanted new headphones the nice bose one’s but that would be all I could afford so I’m not sure about it.I was also thinking of buying a couple blu-ray movies cuz he got a blu-ray player a few months ago.

I am definitely going to make a scrapbook full of pictures, movie stubs, notes, and everything we’ve done together so that’s is going to be the creative gift but I still need something else lol. Originally we wanted to get our promise rings engraved but after we had to do size adjustments, not enough gold is left on the inside to engrave. I was thinking of other types of personalized jewelry but I doubt he’ll really wear a necklace or bracelet.
